SNSF project The "Civilization of Anatomy": the Genre of Literary Anatomies in Seventeenth-century Italy (https://data.snf.ch/grants/grant/204399)
The project aims to investigate the linguistic and epistemological effects of the anatomical revolution on the humanistic culture of the early modern age. In particular, it seeks to evaluate the spread of the anatomical method to other disciplines, basing its research on a corpus of Literary Anatomies composed in Italy during the Sixteenth and Seventeenth century. Case study of the PhD research are Lorenzo Bellini’s Discorsi di anatomia (1696).
