  • Alum Rebecca Jackson awarded the Trevor Levere Best Paper Prize for 2025

HPSC Alumna Rebecca Jackson awarded the Trevor Levere Best Paper Prize for 2025

Friday, March 20, 2026

The Trevor Levere Best Paper Prize is awarded annually to the author of an original, unpublished essay in the history of science, technology, or medicine, which is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. The prize, which is supported by Taylor & Francis, is intended for those who are currently doctoral students, or have been awarded their doctorate within the past four years. The winning essay is published in the Annals of Science, and the author awarded US$1000 and a free subscription to the Journal.

The Editor is pleased to congratulate Armel Cornu (Uppsala Universitet, Sweden), Sarah Hijmans ( Université Paris Cité, France), and Rebecca L. Jackson (Durham University, UK) who are the winners of the 2025 Trevor Levere Best Paper Prize for their article: The drop and the metric system: how an unruly unit survived revolutions. Annals of Science, 2026, https://doi.org/10.1080/00033790.2026.2636886
