We are pleased to announce the program of the conference "Analysis and Synthesis in Historical and Systematic Perspectives," to be held September 29-October 2, 2021 at the Department of History and Philosophy of Science and Medicine, Indiana University (Bloomington, Indiana). The conference is part of a Sawyer Seminar, a year-long research institute funded by the USA-based Mellon Foundation. The overall topic for the year is “Rigor: Experimental Control, Analysis, and Synthesis in Historical and Systematic Perspectives”. The fall conference will deal specifically with the history of analysis and synthesis – material, philosophical, and mathematical - as methods of demonstration (in both the informal and strict senses).
The conference will take place entirely on Zoom.
Participation is free, but please register by email at rigor@indiana.edu
